South Petherton man remembered with love after fatal attack

Tributes have been paid to Colin Lawson, described by loved ones as an “extraordinary man” who lifted the spirits of everyone around him, following his death in South Petherton last month.

Mr Lawson, 43, was found critically injured at an address in Holbrook Park, off Mare Lane, shortly after 7.00pm on Friday 22nd August. Despite the efforts of police and paramedics, he sadly died at the scene.

A forensic post-mortem examination confirmed that he died after sustaining a number of wound injuries.

Avon and Somerset Police arrested 49-year-old Graham Janes, of Pear Tree Drive in Chard, on suspicion of murder on the same evening. He was initially taken to hospital for treatment before being transported to police custody on 23rd August.

Mr Janes has since been charged with the murder of Colin Lawson and one count of assault causing actual bodily harm (ABH) relating to the same evening. He remains in custody on remand and is due to appear at Br…
