A former Devon and Cornwall Police officer from Seaton is due to appear in court this week charged with stalking and misconduct in public office.
Kevin Davis, 41, will appear before Exeter Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, 20th August.
The first charge relates to allegations that between January and May this year, Davis “pursued a course of conduct which amounted to stalking of a woman”, according to a police statement.
He also faces a second charge under the Computer Misuse Act 1990. It is alleged that between January and June this year, he caused a computer to perform a function with intent to secure unauthorised access to a programme or data.
Davis served as a constable with Devon and Cornwall Police before leaving the force.
The case is expected to be heard in full later this week.
